Car overheated now wont start coolant. If the engine does not turn over then it is going to need to be replaced.
First, never turn your rover off when it is overheating, as long as it has coolant in it, pull over, turn the heater and fan to the highest position and let the engine idle till cool or you will toast your engine.

It will act like its going to start buy just cranks. When you are noticing your engine stall or shiver, then something is going wrong there. If it does not start, just let go of the key, leaving it in on position until the theft light goes out (about ten minutes).
Overheating can warp the cylinder head and/or engine block, which can cause a failure to start due to loss of compression, valve damage and so forth. Spray a decent amount of it into the intake air tube. As for the no start, reset the inerita switch on the passengers fire wall. Does the car turn over but not start or wont turn over period ?

Went to store car ran hot let cool put new coolant in now it cranks but won't start my car has 13900 miles. Stopped let it cool down. My car overheated and now it wont start!.
With vehicles facing such issues, it is often because the engine is seized. A leakdown test and compression test will also help determine internal prob. Water on the ground could be a blown rad hose or cracked rad.
#3 · jun 9, 2010. It would over heat after driving it 5 miles at least. Put the tube back into place and crank the engine.
To check whether or not your engine is seized, you would need a 1/2″ breaker bar (or a ratchet). Car overheated cranks but won’t start: Take a wrench or socket with ratchet and put them on the crank pulley bolt and turn the engine over by hand.
Try to start the vehicle. Check for the coolant leaks and top off the coolant when the leak is fixed. A couple of weeks ago my 96 4.6 overheated on the freeway and shut itself down. These are famous for having intake manifold gasket problems. Does this car have the 3.1 engine?
