When I Turn The Key To Start Nothing Happens
All i hear is chiming inside ticking constantly under the hood and my position lights flickering all these are happening even with the key out. I finally got the truck to start by putting it in neutral.
By doing so the starter should turn on and try to start the engine.
When i turn the key to start nothing happens. ↑ okay, please be kind. When it happens you could try to jumper out the relay. If so, place it in neutral.
At first i thought it was the battery but someone told me it would still be clicking if it was te battery. Now if you try to start it it will start, but sometime nothing happens again. If playback doesn't begin shortly, try restarting your device.
Take the key out and put it back in and it will start but not all the time. Check battery charge, and battery connections for corrosion. May 15th, 2007 4:26 pm.
Now when it happens, which isn't very often, i just put the truck in neutral, start it, and go on my way. Turn the key and nothing happens. Recently when i`ve been turning the key to start it no power seems to go to the starter motor and when a turn key back to normal position a traffic master voice comes on over the speakers which i have then press a traffic master button to get it to shut up,, i take it a previous owner must of installed it, the yellow engine in the warning lights goes off when i turn.

Every now and then that happens to me. If there is power getting to the relay when the key is in the start position, then i'd say a bad relay or perhaps a bad neutral safety switch. I have lots of power and i just replaced the starter thinking that was the problem.
Discussion starter · #1 · jul 20, 2012. This is a relatively common phenomenon and it can happen to any car, no matter its age or mileage. Refrain from letting the vehicle’s battery from getting discharged while the key is in the ignition as this could damage the eis or the key.
You could replace that relay since it shouldn't be expensive and it's easy to do. Not true, if the starter is shot it might not do a single thing. Also look into the car’s fuses.
Sometimes the steering wheel locking mechanism or the shifter location may cause the switch not to turn all the way. When you are faced with mercedes turn key nothing happens situation you may try cleaning the eis keyhole using a dry cloth. Tried both sets of keys and the both work the same.

There could be a wiring problem; When i turn the key there's no clicking sound or anything. But, most of the time it’s the starter.

About 2 minutes later it cranked over with full power like nothing was the matter. Turn the key to run position. When i turn the key nothing happens.
